Philadelphia (outside West Philly) born and raised, Jonathan Dowell spent most of his days, chillin’ out maxin’ relaxin’ on the playground. He played some piano, outside of the school. A couple of notes that were up to no good, started to be played together like they never should. He wrote one little song and grew a beard, and now he writes... more songs. But not so much lyrics.
He plays original classical/jazz/progressive piano compositions, influenced by artists such as Jon Schmidt, Stephen Wilson, and Metallica. His music is characterized by synchopated ryhthms, multiple key changes, and interesting use of dischordant notes to add contrast to the overall melodic feel. He has also played keyboard in the heavy metal band Quis Deo for several years.
