Thinking back to my first day of school, I can’t recall my teacher, or the classroom, but I very fondly remember THAT DRESS - the one Mom lovingly created for my big day. It was just like Annie's! (It was the 80s.) So naturally, when my daughter was ready for school, I NEEDED to sew my love into a fancy skirt to send her out into the big, big world. Everyone loved it!
After adding a newborn to our family, weekly yoga classes kept me sane. (Mostly.) Every Thursday I hesitated to go, but my husband encouraged me with a simple, “Namaste.” Twisted by tiny 3-year-old ears, it soon became, “Mama, stay!” and a new family joke.
Now that life has settled (mostly), I’ve launched a new adventure that allows this mama to stay at home with her little ones a little longer. MamaStay skirts have personalities as unique and playful as the girls who wear them. Each skirt is sewn by me, with the same love and meticulous care as the very first one. As my children grow, I hope MamaStay will too.
